Build Responsibly

Sustainable Homes
Execution

Designing and building homes that work in harmony with the climate — lower bills, lower carbon, healthier living.

ServicesSustainable Homes Execution
Six Pillars

Sustainability built into every stage —
from design to handover.

At Kamala Infra, sustainability isn't an add-on. Our execution covers six integrated pillars — climate-responsive design, certified green construction, on-site renewable energy, water stewardship, circular waste handling, and healthy interiors — so the homes we build are lighter on the planet and better to live in.

01
Design Planning · Orientation · Natural Comfort

Bioclimatic & Passive Design

Every sustainable home begins on the drawing board. Our bioclimatic design approach studies the site's solar path, prevailing winds, rainfall, and surrounding micro-climate, then orients the building, openings, and shading devices to work with nature instead of against it. Passive design strategies — cross-ventilation, thermal mass, daylighting, courtyards, and high-performance envelopes — cut down dependence on mechanical heating, cooling, and artificial lighting before a single appliance is switched on.

Talk to Our Team
  • Site-specific solar path, wind, and shadow analysis
  • Optimum building orientation and room placement
  • Window-to-wall ratio tuned for daylight without heat gain
  • External shading — chajjas, louvres, jaalis, pergolas
  • Thermal insulation in walls and roof to reduce heat ingress
  • Cross-ventilation, stack ventilation, and courtyard planning
  • Cool roofs, light-coloured facades, and reflective finishes
  • Use of locally available, low-embodied-energy materials
02
IGBC · GRIHA · LEED · EDGE

Green Certificate Facilitation

A green rating is more than a plaque on the wall — it is third-party proof that your home or project meets verified sustainability benchmarks. Kamala Infra coordinates the full certification journey under IGBC Green Homes, GRIHA, LEED, or IFC EDGE: documentation, modelling, on-site verification, and submissions. We work alongside accredited professionals to target the rating level you want — Certified, Silver, Gold, or Platinum — and ensure design and construction decisions accumulate the credits required.

Talk to Our Team
  • Rating-system selection — IGBC, GRIHA, LEED, or EDGE
  • Pre-certification gap analysis and credit roadmap
  • Coordination with accredited green professionals (AP / GA / CP)
  • Energy and daylight simulation modelling
  • Sustainable site, material, and water credit documentation
  • Construction-stage compliance monitoring and audits
  • Final submissions, review responses, and certificate hand-over
  • Post-occupancy performance verification on request
03
Rooftop PV · Solar Water Heating · Net Metering

Solar Energy Integration

We design every roof as a future power plant. From load assessment and shadow-free area mapping to inverter sizing and net-metering paperwork, our team integrates rooftop solar PV and solar thermal systems into the structural and electrical plan from day one — so cabling, conduiting, and structural reinforcements are already in place when the panels arrive. The result: lower running costs, lower carbon footprint, and grid independence for years to come.

Talk to Our Team
  • Connected-load and consumption-pattern assessment
  • Shadow analysis and panel-layout optimisation
  • Structural provisions for panel mounting and walkways
  • Grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid (battery-backed) systems
  • Solar water-heating systems for bathrooms and kitchens
  • Solar-ready conduiting and inverter-room provisioning
  • Net-metering application and DISCOM liaison
  • Subsidy guidance under MNRE / state rooftop schemes
04
Rainwater Harvesting · Recharge · Greywater Reuse

Water Harvesting Systems

With ground-water tables dropping across South India, every drop counts. Our water systems capture rainwater from rooftops and paved areas, filter it, and either store it for direct use or channel it into recharge pits and borewells. Where the project allows, we add greywater recycling for landscape irrigation and flushing — reducing fresh-water demand by up to 40%. All systems are sized per IS 15797 and local statutory norms.

Talk to Our Team
  • Rooftop rainwater harvesting with first-flush diverters
  • Recharge pits, recharge wells, and borewell recharging
  • Underground / overhead storage tanks with filtration
  • Surface runoff capture from driveways and landscape areas
  • Greywater recycling for flushing and gardening
  • Permeable paving to maximise ground recharge
  • Low-flow plumbing fixtures and dual-flush WCs
  • Compliance with state rainwater-harvesting regulations
05
Source Segregation · Composting · Construction Waste

Waste Management Integration

Sustainable execution doesn't end with handover — it begins with how waste is handled on day one. We design dedicated zones for source segregation of wet, dry, and hazardous waste, integrate organic-waste converters (OWCs) or compost pits for kitchen and garden waste, and recover construction debris back into sub-base fills and non-structural concrete. The aim is a measurably smaller landfill footprint across both the build and the building's operating life.

Talk to Our Team
  • Source-segregation chutes and tri-coloured bin stations
  • Organic waste converters (OWCs) and compost-pit design
  • Vermicomposting setups for landscape-grade manure
  • Construction & demolition (C&D) waste segregation on site
  • Reuse of excavated soil, bricks, and concrete in works
  • Tie-ups with authorised C&D and e-waste recyclers
  • Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) integration where required
  • Treated-water reuse for flushing and landscape irrigation
06
Low-VOC · Ventilation · Biophilic Living

Healthy Indoor Air Quality

Indians spend over 80% of their time indoors, and poor indoor air quality is linked to respiratory and cognitive issues. We design air-healthy homes from the inside out — selecting low-VOC paints, adhesives, and sealants; specifying formaldehyde-free wood products; planning mechanical ventilation with fresh-air intake and CO₂-aware exhaust; and integrating greenery, both indoor and outdoor, to support cleaner, breathable interiors. The result is a home that not only saves energy, but also actively supports the well-being of the family inside.

Talk to Our Team
  • Low- and zero-VOC paints, primers, and sealants
  • Formaldehyde-free plywood, MDF, and laminate specification
  • Mechanical ventilation with fresh-air intake and exhaust
  • Kitchen and bathroom exhaust sized for ACH compliance
  • CO₂, PM2.5, and humidity-aware ventilation strategies
  • Anti-microbial and dust-resistant surface finishes
  • Indoor planting zones and biophilic design integration
  • Radon and damp-proofing measures at foundation level
